Why this blog and name?

Why write this blog?
I had come to a point in my career where I thought I met all my goals in life.

Along the way, I have learned many things about people, products and companies.

In addition, I have had a really enjoyable career working and living in different places in the USA and Australia, but I started to feel like it was not enough.

I had not given back to the so many communities that had given to me.

In addition, there were areas in my work as a systems engineer that were not working such as really being a systems engineer or working with truly disruptive technologies, people, projects or companies.

I am not saying there weren’t any aspects of the technologies, people, projects, or companies that were disruptive in intention, but some where along the line they either lost the original plan or missed a crucial part in creating a disruptive environment or outcome that could have been spectacular to achieve. I can’t say that for all of the projects I had the opportunity to participate in there are a few that really gave me the ongoing hope to continue in creating positive and socially beneficial disruption in our world.

About two years ago I started to look at my engineering career and asked have I lead a disruptive life as an engineer and the answer was yes I have. Many of the systems I have help create benefited humanity for more years then I will be alive, but what now?

Therefore,beneficial
  • I wanted to find away to resolve some of current issues with systems engineering;
  • help engineers that don’t understand the real value of systems engineering learn about the real and practical use of systems engineering;
  • inspire younger generations of students to want to become an engineer, especially a systems engineer;
  • support educating children in STEM initiatives and
  • for me when I finally retire an ability to give back to the world through mentoring current and future engineers.

Therefore, I started on a quest by participating in various projects and communities to accomplish these broad goals. This blog is about my journey of exploration to become a disruptive person and engineer. I hope that along this journey I can provide my experience and knowledge to your your journey to becoming a Disruptive Engineer.
